"Christians Should Be Poor"
To fully understand the Scriptures,
To Be A Great Christian, I Feel
That One Must Live In Poverty
To Have Just Enough, To Go Hungry
To Wear Rags or Cheap Clothes
Not to accumulate money
Except at Christmas and occaisions
To Know Hunger and Need
Is Part of Being A Christian.
Jesus taught us to "Go, sell all
that you have, and follow me, and
you shall have treasures in heaven"
"Blessed Are The Poor..."
"Blessed Are The Meek"
"Blessed Are the Trodden Upon"
"It is Harder for a camel to go through
the eye of a needle than a rich person
to enter heaven"
"Why Worry Ye About Clothing, or Food?"
"If anyone wants to follow me, let him
take up his cross and follow me"
"Go, give all that you have to the poor,
and follow me"
This Being Said, I resolved to be poor
when i got out of college and met my
husband and really started learning
the scriptures with Theodore.  I make
sure we have just enough of everything
i am the housewife and lead a modest home
just enough to eat but not too much,
just enough to wear, a pair of shoes,
no money on hand to spend for fun....
I choose not to work and enjoy my life
rather than be a slave to a job so i can
be an even sadder slave to money.
I feel this is How Jesus Wants Us To Live.
I am proud of being Poor.  I wouldn't
accept being wealthy.  I only need just enough.
The Lord Provides be happy with
 your portion, Jehovah Jireh!
