They Tell Me It's Hopeless
And If I didn't Believe in it
I Would Probably Give Up
And Get A Day Job for once
But Since I Can't get a job
Since I have worked too hard
To Make This Into Something
--I Can't Give Up.
I Grew Up Reading Poetry
By all the famous Poets
Thinking, I Can Do This
Even better, or just as well!
So I did.  I write my heart out
I've proved all the famous authors
that im a formidable equal
but the others like me are better
than me, and it breaks me heart
here i am competing with shakespeare
and going hungry and in poverty
when someone who doesnt even care
comes up and writes something
better than mine and better than Shakespeare
Shakespeare and I have Our Pride
Bashful and Ashamed in the Presence
Of These Modern Day Geniuses.

Because I cannot see a consistency
in history.
